What is Crohn’s Disease?
Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory disease of the intestines. Crohn’s disease occurs when the body's immune system mistakes healthy bacteria for unhealthy bacteria, leading to an attack on the body's digestive system. Crohn’s disease mainly causes inflammation (ulcers) in the small and large intestines, but can affect any part of the digestive system anywhere between the mouth and the anus. Crohn's disease commonly occurs in the lower part of the small intestine, known as the ileum.  The inflammation caused by Crohn's disease can extend deep into the lining of the affected organ. This inflammation causes pain, resulting in diarrhea which makes the intestines empty frequently.

Symptons of Crohn's Disease
Typical Crohn's disease patients experience loss of appetite and weight loss, abdominal pain (often in the lower right area), pain in the joints, fatigue, sores around the anal area, and rectal bleeding. The symptoms for some Crohn's disease patients can be severe and debilitating, while others experience long periods when their symptoms are mild, if noticeable at all.

What causes Crohn’s Disease?
The exact cause behind Crohn's disease is not yet known but there are many theories which are being researched and studied. One of the common theories is that the body's immune system reacts to alien organisms such as bacteria or virus thereby causing inflammation in the intestine.  Some researchers suspect that infection by mycobacterium (a certain type of bacteria), may be the cause of Crohn's desease.

Who Does Crohn’s Disease Affect?
Crohn's disease is known to affect men and women equally. People of any age from young children to the elderly can get Crohn's disease. Geographically, Crohn's diseases is often found in the USA, Canada and Europe, but there evidence of rise in Crohn's disease cases in parts of Asia.

How Antioxidants Help Crohn’s Disease.
Research studies have shown that Crohn’s disease patients are under increased oxidative stress and have lower antioxidant levels than healthy people.  Crohn’s disease patients produce more damaging free radicals than healthy people which quickly depletes their antioxidants levels.  Antioxidants help Crohn’s disease patients by replenishing the body’s antioxidant levels, fighting free radicals, as well as, controlling and reducing the inflammation caused by free radical damage in the digestive system.

How Omega-3 Fatty Acids Help Crohn’s Disease.
Research studies have shown that the risk of developing Crohn’s disease is reduced and the chances of attaining remission are improved by having a proper intake and balance of Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Omega-6 Fatty Acids. The anti-inflammatory properties of well balanced omega fatty acids has a positive impact on Crohn’s disease related inflammation if taken daily.

ProBiotics help Crohn’s Disease by replenishing the body’s level of healthy bacteria in an effort to restore order and balance in the digestive system.

Xocai Omega Squares.  It is important to maintain an appropriate balance of Omega-3 and Omega-6 in your diet as these two substances work together to promote better health. A healthy diet should consist of roughly two times more Omega-6 fatty acids than Omega-3 fatty acids (2:1).

Many researchers suggested that the present excessive levels of Omega-6 fatty acids, relative to Omega-3 fatty acids (10:1), in the North American diet has created a significant imbalance and is a major factor in the rising rate of diseases in the United States.  The Xoçai Omega Squares help promote better Omega fatty acids balance by providing your body the Omega-3 essential fatty acids for preventative and better health during every stage of your life!
